Niklas Freihofer
Fintech expert

The fintech expert has established his career at the intersection of financial services, technology and commercial execution, developing a reputation as a fintech entrepreneur and business operator with more than a decade of experience across forex, CFDs, banking, digital assets and financial technology.
His understanding of fintech has been shaped not only by market participation, but by direct involvement in building and scaling financial businesses. Freihofer began his career close to the brokerage industry as a forex introducing broker, gaining first-hand insight into client acquisition, financial-product distribution and the commercial infrastructure supporting modern financial services. His experience subsequently expanded into banking, fintech and digital assets, ultimately leading him toward company ownership and entrepreneurship.
A defining feature of Freihofer’s approach is his emphasis on translating financial technology into commercially viable businesses. For him, fintech innovation has limited value without effective execution, strong products, capable teams and systems designed to support scale. This perspective has informed his work across financial companies and shaped his broader philosophy around sustainable growth.
One financial company Freihofer has helped build has approached 10,000 new deposits per day and more than $1bn in deposits. Such scale illustrates the operational demands that accompany rapid expansion: technology infrastructure must accommodate increased activity, teams must assume greater responsibility, and customer expectations must be supported by reliable products and processes. Freihofer therefore distinguishes between growth and durability. In his view, increasing customer numbers or revenue is only one measure of a company’s development.
The more significant test is whether the underlying technology, people, systems and management structures can continue performing effectively as complexity increases. Client value is another central element of his fintech perspective. In financial services, technology can improve distribution, efficiency and accessibility, but commercial success ultimately depends on whether products provide meaningful value to the customers using them. Freihofer’s approach therefore connects sales and innovation with longer-term customer relationships rather than viewing acquisition as an end in itself.
For Freihofer, fintech is ultimately more than a technology category. It is an operating environment in which financial expertise, technology, data, product development and commercial execution increasingly converge. His career reflects that convergence, with company building and ownership remaining at the centre of his approach to the evolving financial landscape.
