Few young Saudi entrepreneurs have blended heritage and contemporary design as successfully as Abdulrahman Alabid. Through Qormuz, the cultural lifestyle brand he founded in 2022, Alabid has built a business that draws inspiration from Saudi Arabia’s history while presenting it through a distinctly modern lens. Rather than treating heritage as something confined to museums, he has transformed traditional motifs into premium leather goods, outerwear, fragrances, home accessories and lifestyle products that resonate with a new generation of consumers.
A student of Saudi history and culture, Alabid has consistently used storytelling as a cornerstone of the brand. Every collection is rooted in a historical narrative, drawing on regional traditions, architecture or cultural symbols to create products that feel authentic rather than nostalgic. This philosophy has helped Qormuz carve out a distinctive identity within Saudi Arabia’s fast-growing fashion industry, where local brands are increasingly competing alongside international luxury labels.
The company’s commercial performance reflects that growing demand. By late 2025, Qormuz had generated approximately $1.7m in revenue, serving more than 3,500 customers across nearly 5,700 orders. Much of that growth was driven by the launch of its Northern Winds collection, inspired by the heritage of northern Saudi Arabia, which strengthened the brand’s reputation for combining craftsmanship with cultural authenticity.
