UAE-based carrier Emirates will introduce a fourth weekly service between Dubai and Muscat from August 28, 2021.

From August 28, the new flight, EK866, will depart from Dubai at 2.15am, arriving in Muscat at 3.30am. The return flight, EK867, will depart from Muscat 4.40am, arriving in Dubai at 5.55am.

The move comes days after Oman confirmed that it will lift the entry ban on arrivals from all countries starting September 1, 2021.

Omani citizens, residents and visitors will be allowed to enter the sultanate and will only have to quarantine until they receive the results of the Covid-19 test that they take at the airport on arrival.

All those aged 18 and over who are entering the country through the land, sea and air entry points must be fully vaccinated with a vaccine recognised by Oman. These vaccines include: Covishield, AstraZeneca, Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinovac and Sputnik V.

Pre-travel Covid-19 PCR tests are mandatory for passengers flying to Muscat as well as to Dubai.

Emirates added that it has resumed passenger services to over 120 destinations, recovering close to 90 per cent of its pre-pandemic network.
