Emaar Malls appoints Rajiv Suri as new CEO

Former Emaar Malls CEO Patrick Bousquet-Chavanne stepped down in 2019

Emaar Malls has appointed Rajiv Suri as its chief executive officer.

The announcement was made recently in a statement signed by vice chairman Ahmad Tahani Al Matrooshi to Dubai Financial Market, although no further details were provided.

Former Emaar Malls CEO Patrick Bousquet-Chavanne stepped down in 2019 following a year in the role, with his duties subsequently handled by Natalie Bogdanova.

Rajiv Suri is believed to have previously worked as the managing director and CEO of Indian retail firm Shoppers Stop.

“Rajiv Suri, managing director and chief executive officer of the company, has tendered his resignation for personal reasons, effective August 25, 2020, to pursue a career in a company outside India,” the K Raheja Group reportedly said in a regulatory filing.

Emaar Malls, meanwhile, has registered a net profit of Dhs345m ($94m) in the first half of 2020, marking a dip of nearly 69 per cent from Dhs1.130bn ($308m) in H1 2019.
