Eid Al Fitr confirmed on Friday in UAE

Eid al-Fitr holidays for private sector workers in the UAE will be on Friday and Saturday

The UAE’s moon sighting committee has confirmed that Eid Al Fitr will be celebrated on Friday, July 17 in the country.

The committee, which met on Thursday night, said that July 16 was the last day of the holy month of Ramadan with the month of Shawwal beginning on Friday.

In line with that Eid al-Fitr holidays for private sector workers in the UAE will be on Friday and Saturday.

Meanwhile UAE federal ministries and authorities, which were closed on Thursday, July 16, will now reopen on Monday, July 20.

Eid will also be celebrated on Friday in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait, while Oman has declared Saturday as the start of Shawwal, reports said.
