Dubai’s Global Village will not open its doors to the public on Sunday, February 3 due to bad weather conditions, it revealed on Twitter.

The entertainment destination opens to the public at 4pm everyday.

“Due to prevailing weather conditions, and in order to ensure the comfort of our guests, Global Village will not be opening its gates today. Doors will be open again tomorrow, Monday February 4, for families and ladies day starting 4pm,” it announced.

The UAE has been facing rains and heavy winds, with temperatures also dropping significantly on Sunday.

Strong winds – reaching up to 50km/h – could also cause blowing dust and sand over the exposed areas, the UAE’s National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has warned.
