Dubai’s DHA inaugurates new medical fitness, occupational screening centre

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) launched its 13th medical fitness and occupational screening centre in the Al Nahda area.

The new centre was launched in partnership with public and private entities and businessmen. The two-floor centre includes x-ray rooms, pathology and medical consultation rooms, equipped with smart technologies and run by experienced medical, technical and administrative staff. It also includes three laboratories that specialise in haematology, chemical analysis and microbiology.

The centre has a 250 per-day capacity for VIP medical fitness services and a 3,500 per day capacity for occupational screening services.

Humaid Al Qutami, director-general of the DHA, said that the authority is keeping pace with its development work and the transformation of the emirate. and that this ongoing urban expansion calls for modern medical facilities that meet the growing needs of society and its individuals for medical care.

In related company news, DHA introduced phase 1 of the Network and Analysis Backbone for the Integrated Dubai Health (NABIDH) initiative last month.

The NABIDH initiative will provide a unified medical record for each individual in Dubai by connecting the information contained in all public and private healthcare facilities. Part of Dubai’s health information exchange and population health programme, the project will lead to improved quality and patient safety, reduced cost and evidence-based care.
