Dubai residents can now register residential and commercial tenancy contracts at select post offices across the emirate, official news agency WAM reported.

According to an agreement signed between the Dubai Land Department and Emirates Post Group, residents can complete the registration process by paying Dhs195 per transaction.

The facility is available at the following locations: Dubai Central Post Office in Karama, Jumeirah Post Office, Al Riqqa Post Office, Hor Al Anz Post Office and Al Rashidiya Post Office.

“The land department is pleased to offer registration of tenancy contracts at post offices for the convenience of our tenants,” said Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, director general of Land Department in Dubai.

“We are sure this move will enable customers to complete their transactions with speed and efficiency, without the need of going to real estate agents. We urge customers to make use of the postal network to register their tenancy contracts,” he said.

To complete the process, residents need to fill up an application form, either online or at the post office, and present the following documents: photo copy of tenancy contract, DEWA bill, passport photocopy with page visa for non UAE nationals and for corporate bodies, a photocopy of the trade licence.

“Our customer service agents have been well trained to handle all queries and offer high levels of service,” said Ibrahim Bin Karam, chief commercial officer, Emirates Post Group.
