Dubai ‘leading the pack’ for world records

Dubai is setting a record for world records, according to a new report

Anyone who has visited or lived in Dubai has had the feeling that there are world record-breaking properties all around them. Now a new report from Forbes has claimed Dubai is “leading the pack” among cities when it comes to Guinness World Record-breaking properties.

Dubai Tourism on Sunday tweeted out the praise the emirate had received.

Said the tweet: “@Forbes: Territories like #Dubai are leading the pack with the most Guinness World Record winning properties, with Gevora Hotel as the tallest #hotel in the world and At.mosphere at @BurjKhalifa as the highest #restaurant in the world.”

The world records Dubai has include tallest hotel (the Gevora in Downtown Dubai), highest restaurant (At.mosphere on the 122nd floor of the Burj Khalifa), largest indoor theme park (IMG Worlds of Adventure), largest picture frame (the Dubai Frame), largest single airport terminal (Terminal 3 at Dubai Airport) and of course the tallest building (the Burj Khalifa itself), to name just a few.

A number of properties are under construction in Dubai which, when completed, are expected to be world records. They include the tallest building (Dubai Creek Tower) and biggest mall (currently named as Dubai Square by Emaar Properties and Dubai Holding).

Other records Dubai held until recently include largest mall (Dubai Mall, now second worldwide) and tallest residential building (the Princess Tower in Dubai Marina, recently supplanted by 432 Park Avenue in New York City).
