Dubai June Airport Passenger Traffic Up 17.5%

Passenger traffic was aided by Emirates airline’s tie-up with Australia’s Qantas.

Passenger traffic through Dubai International Airport rose 17.5 per cent from a year earlier to 5.54 million people in June, aided by the Emirates airline’s tie-up with Qantas and the launch of the Australian carrier’s flights into Dubai.

In the first half of this year, passenger traffic climbed 16.9 per cent to 32.66 million people, airport authorities said on Monday.

Freight volume through the airport rose 3.6 per cent in June to 202,077 tonnes, and gained 10.2 per cent to 1.20 million tonnes during the first half.
