The Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA) announced a DHCA Business Relief Package which includes conditional rental waivers for three months, deferred rental payments, and reduced fees and waivers for certain services within the free zone.

The package does not apply to pharmacies and supermarkets which have been following regular operations.

The DHCA, the governing body of Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), confirmed a 100 per cent waiver on administration fees for all its properties.

There will be up to a 100 per cent waiver on commercial and clinical fees and penalties for all directly-impacted segments.

These directly-impacted segments include outpatient clinics, education providers, hospitality and support services which have had to close or significantly reduce operations to comply with national precautionary and preventive measures, resulting in reduced revenues and customer footfall.

These businesses will also additionally receive up to 50 per cent discount on commercial and clinical licencing fees.

“These segments are facing revenue losses and need respite from operational expenses. We looked at ways to help these segments better manage their operating costs by introducing waivers and reduced fees,” said Jamal Abdulsalam, CEO of DHCA.

Non-directly impacted segments meanwhile, excluding pharmacies and supermarkets, will receive up to 50 per cent waiver on commercial and clinical fees and penalties.

They will also receive up to a 25 per cent discount on commercial and clinical licensing fees.

There will be a conditional three-month free rent period offered to F&B outlets operating in DHCA properties.

The healthcare regulatory body will also offer a conditional deferral on base rent payment for up to three months in DHCA properties.

“Our partners in the DHCC community are our most valuable assets, contributing to the Emirate’s healthcare capacity, and globally positioning Dubai as one of the most business-friendly cities and preferred investment destinations. In line with Dubai Government directives to support investors and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), we are making concerted efforts to support business continuity and stimulate economic recovery and growth,” added Abdulsalam.
