Dubai-based Azizi Developments has awarded a contract worth Dhs572m for the fourth phase of its Dhs12bn Azizi Riviera project in Meydan One.

The contract to construct 11 buildings has been awarded to Majed Hilal Contracting, with work expected to begin by the end of July 2018.

The 11 buildings will make up over half of all developments in Phase 4 of Azizi Riviera, which will have a total of 4,753 units consisting of 3,141 studios, 1,261 one-bedroom, 267 two-bedroom, and 84 three-bedroom apartments.

Designed to resemble the French Riviera, the Azizi Riviera project in Meydan One includes 69 mid-rise residential buildings comprising studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, a mega integrated retail district and a four and a five-star hotel.

It will also offer access to long paved pedestrian paths and water transport, yachting facilities and a proposed marina, among other attractions.

In March, the developer awarded a contract worth Dhs952m for the construction of phase three of the project.

It also confirmed that the first two phases of the project are on track for completion in Q1 2019 – slightly later than the December 2018 previously planned.

The waterfront project, located on the banks of the Dubai Canal, is being developed by KCC Engineering and Construction and Actco General Constructing.

Mirwais Azizi, chairman of Azizi Group, said: “We recognise a growing interest in Dubai’s real estate market – and particularly in buying off-plan – and aim to match that with timely delivery.”

Azizi Riviera is the first in a series of projects that Azizi is planning to develop in the Meydan One mega-development, following a partnership with Meydan Group last year.

The developer is also working on its Azizi Victoria project in Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City–District 7.

Spread over a construction area of 33 million square feet, the development includes 105 mid and high-rise residential buildings with 30,000 units of studio, one, two, three and four bedroom apartments, a retail district and two hotels.

Overall, Azizi Developments is working on developing more than 200 projects in 2018.
