Covid-19: UAE reports 391 new cases, 505 recoveries

The UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) reported 391 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 732,690.

The new cases were detected after 368,242 additional Covid-19 tests were conducted over the past 24 hours.

In a statement, MoHAP said the infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition, and receiving the necessary care.

The ministry also announced two deaths due to Covid complications, bringing the death toll in the country to 2,075.

It also noted that 505 individuals had fully recovered from the virus, with the total number of recoveries reaching 724,446.

The ministry said it plans to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary treatment.

The UAE has seen a steady decline in the number of new Covid-19 cases in recent weeks.

More than 91 per cent of the country’s population has received one dose of the vaccine with 80.99 per cent fully vaccinated, officials announced on Saturday.

Abu Dhabi also scrapped the requirement for Covid-19 tests for entry into the emirate from other parts of the country, starting from Sunday, September 19.
