All those visiting patients who are admitted to medical facilities in Abu Dhabi must now undergo a Covid-19 PCR test prior to doing so.

They must present a negative test result not older than 24 hours in order to be permitted to enter the facilities.

However, those who have been vaccinated, and have proof of having done so on the Al Hosn app, do not need to undergo a PCR test prior to their visit.

The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company – SEHA, confirmed this new update for inpatient visits via its Twitter account on Monday and added that the new rules were as per a circular issued by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and that they are effective immediately.

As of January 18, the UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention confirmed that 88,743 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine were given over the past 24 hours.

The total number of doses provided therefore stands at 1,971,521, at a vaccine distribution rate of 19.93 doses per 100 people.
