Early counting of ballots in India has indicated that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was cruising to a win in the 2014 Indian Elections. As numbers became available in about 500 of the 543 seats available, the NDA was said to be in the lead in almost 296 seats, ahead of the 272 mark needed to form the government, with the Bharatiya Janata (BJP) party alone in the lead in 271 seats. On the other hand, the ruling United Progressive Alliance (UPA) is lead in barely 70 seats. Prime Ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, has won in Vadodra, one of the two seats from where he is contesting from in India.
