Bahraini Prime Minister passes away

Bahraini Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa passed away on the morning of November 11.

He died at Mayo Clinic Hospital in the US. He was 84.

The burial ceremony will take place after the repatriation of the body, and the funeral will be limited to a specific number of relatives, Bahrain News Agency reported.

Government ministries and departments will be closed for three days starting Thursday, November 12.

Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has ordered the announcement of a week-long mourning period, during which flags will be flown at half-mast.

The UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a message of condolence to King Hamad on the demise of the Prime Minister.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, also sent condolence messages to the Bahraini King.
