Home GCC UAE Azerbaijan grants UAE residents visa on arrival The on-arrival tourist visa is valid for one month the date of arrival by Aarti Nagraj July 29, 2018 All UAE residents will now be able to obtain a tourist visa on arrival in Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan embassy in the UAE confirmed. The new ruling has been in place since July 26, a statement said. Previously visitors from the UAE needed to obtain a visa at the embassy or the consulate-general of Azerbaijan. The on-arrival tourist visa is valid for one month the date of arrival. “All foreigners staying in Azerbaijan more than 15 days should have a registration at State Migration Service of Azerbaijan,” the statement added. “Please ask your hotel to assist you on the first days of your visit if you will stay more than 15 days.” The statement also stressed that any person that “visited the territories of Azerbaijan occupied by Armenia” will be refused a visa to the country. Azerbaijan, located two hours by flight from Dubai, is seeking to attract more tourists from the UAE. Georgia, which introduced a similar policy of visa on arrival for UAE residents for 90 days, has seen a spike in visitors from the Emirates. The country has become a popular summer travel destination from the UAE due to the relatively short flight time of under four hours and attractive historical sites and countryside.
