Home Telecoms Mobile Apple unveils iPhone 13 series; UAE prices revealed Pre-orders begin on September 17 at 4pm, with units available a week later on September 24 by Divsha Bhat September 15, 2021 At the California Streaming virtual event held on September 14, Apple unveiled the iPhone 13 series. The Cupertino tech giant announced iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and 13 Pro Max. The significant upgrade under the hood is the Apple A15 chipset, which provides a substantial performance boost. The new processor in the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max offers 50 per cent better graphics performance, which Apple claims is higher than any other smartphone currently in the market. Apple has also released a 1TB version for both smartphones with this generation. In terms of battery life, the iPhone 13 Pro will last 1.5 hours longer than the iPhone 12 Pro, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max will last 2.5 hours longer than the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The display is a super retina XDR display with a brightness of 1,000 nits. In addition, the screen’s ProMotion function allows for a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. This offers better app usage and gameplay. It is available in 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch sizes for the Pro and Pro Max variants. The cameras on the new iPhone Pro phones are largely the same as they were last year, with a few tweaks to improve them. The telephoto, ultra-wide, and wide sensors are also included in the triple camera package. The camera configuration adds macro photography to the devices. In addition, night mode is now available for all three sensors. Apple also introduced photographic styles, which will automatically alter camera settings to personalise camera profiles. The iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max cameras support Dolby Vision HDR for high-quality output on the video front. Later this year, ProRes video with added colour fidelity and more efficient encoding will be available on smartphones. It will enable the pro devices to offer end-to-end workflow. The Apple iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will be available in four new colour options with metal sidebands. The phones’ fronts include a ceramic cover for screen protection and an IP68 rating. Customers can get iPhone13 for Dhs3,399 before trade-in, and iPhone13 mini for Dhs2,999, iPhone13 Pro for Dhs4,199 and iPhone 13 Pro Max for Dhs4,699. Pre-orders begin on Friday, September 17 at 4pm, with units available a week later on Friday, September 24. Both handsets are available in graphite, gold, silver, or sierra blue.
