All Abu Dhabi government entities and companies must ensure that 100 per cent of their employees return to their workplaces starting September 5.

The decision was approved by the Department of Government Support on Thursday, reported the Abu Dhabi Media Office in a series of tweets.

An exception will be made and remote working will be allowed for one parent of a child in grade 10 or below who is exempt from in-person school attendance based on medical authorisation and a statement from the educational institution.

Employers can grant additional authorisation based on government regulations.

From September 5, vaccinated employees and those exempted from vaccinations must show the green status on their Alhosn app and follow government testing requirements. Unvaccinated employees must test every seven days.

Employees who do not comply with the required testing will not be able to enter their workplaces and their absence will be deducted from their annual leave or monthly salary.

Vaccinated visitors and customers meanwhile entering these government offices must show a green status on their Alhosn app, while those unvaccinated must show a negative PCR test result secured within the previous 48 hours.
