Abu Dhabi’s IPIC To Triple Emirati Workforce

International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) plans to triple its Emirati workforce over the next three years, a senior executive said on Monday.

Mohamed Abdulla Al Suwaidi, director Business Support Department, said the company plans to take on 500 UAE nationals in positions across the board, as the firm’s portfolio of assets and projects expands.

IPIC is the Abu Dhabi government’s energy investment company.

“At IPIC we believe that Emiratis are our main investment, so we have in place a strategy to offer 500 positions for Emiratis over the next three years. That will effectively triple the size of our workforce,” said Al Suwaidi.

He was speaking after the company’s first appearance at the Tawdheef Recruitment Show.

IPIC will recruit UAE nationals for roles across a number of its projects including its Fujairah Refinery Project, ChemaWEyaat, ADCOP and EmiratesLNG.

The recruitment drive is part of the company’s Emiratisation programme.

“The first option for us in filling each position will be an Emirati, but if we end up recruiting a non-local we will take on three Emiratis as trainees to develop their knowledge under him,” Al Suwaidi added.
