The 20-week programme will provide farmers, agribusinesses, and technology providers with specialised financial solutions and advanced agri-tech tools, supporting the UAE’s National Food Security Strategy 2051. The AGRIX Accelerator will offer participants access to cutting-edge agricultural technologies, strategic business insights, and sustainable farming practices. Through workshops, hands-on training, and mentorship, participants will acquire essential skills to drive innovation and increase agricultural efficiency. The programme also focuses on empowering smallholder farmers to adapt to environmental challenges and fostering a collaborative community dedicated to sustainable agriculture. EDB’s AGRIX to advance the adoption of advanced technologies “Food security is a critical pillar of the UAE’s long-term vision for sustainable growth and resilience,” said Ahmed Mohamed Al Naqbi, CEO of EDB. By promoting the adoption of advanced technologies, we are working to strengthen the country’s position on the Global Food Security Index,” the CEO added. EDB also offers tailored financing solutions, such as its AgriTech Loans Programme, designed to support local producers, agribusinesses, and technology providers. These initiatives align with the bank’s broader goal of providing Dhs30bn in financing to priority sectors by 2026, advancing economic diversification and sustainable growth. The AGRIX Accelerator will contribute to the UAE’s food self-sufficiency by reducing import dependency.
