Starting Sunday, and extending in to the new week, the UAE is bracing for a notable weather change, forecast the National Center of Meteorology (NCM). A surface low-pressure system, combined with an upper air depression, will influence weather patterns, along with a westerly trough bringing intermittent cloud cover along with rain showers. Sky conditions Expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of light to moderate rainfall. Heavy rainfall may occur intermittently in Northern, Eastern, and coastal regions. Blowing dust and sand may reduce visibility, particularly in areas with cloud cover. Sea conditions Mariners and beachgoers should exercise caution, with the sea expected to be slight to moderate, occasionally becoming rough, especially in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea. Residents are hence advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions during this weather event to ensure safety and preparedness. Southeastern wind activity along Arabian Sea coast may cause dust and reduced visibility in desert areas. Oman weather forecast The Oman Meteorology office has issued a similar weather alert for the the country, starting Sunday evening and persisting for several days. The met department forecast scattered rains with occasional thundershowers in Musandam, coastal areas of the Oman Sea, and potentially extending to Al Hajar mountains. Additionally, moderate sea conditions are expected along western Musandam and Oman Sea coasts, with waves reaching 1.5 – 2.5 meters. Along with rain, wind activity along the Arabian Sea coast may cause dust and reduced visibility in desert areas.
