He co-founded logistics and transportation company Aramex in 1982, which he took public on Nasdaq in 1997, making it the first Arab-based company to be listed on a US exchange. He stepped down as the CEO of the logistics group in 2012, ending a long tenure at the helm. He was also a founding investor of Maktoob, which was later acquired by Yahoo.
