Video: Heavy rains in parts of the UAE, Sharjah-Kalba road closed

Sharjah police confirmed that the Wadi Al Helou road, which links the cities of Sharjah and Kalba, was closed in both directions on Tuesday due to the heavy rains.

Motorists were advised to take alternate roads, and also urged to be cautious when driving and avoid speeding during the rains.

Moderate to heavy rains hit Sharjah and other parts of the UAE on Tuesday including Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman and Fujairah.

The UAE’s National Centre for Meteorology (NCM) posted videos on social media showing water overflowing on some roads.

The NCM also confirmed that the weather on Wednesday will remain cloudy with the chance of some rainfall.
