The UAE has warned of rains and thunderstorms across parts of the country this week, with some mountainous areas already seeing flooding.

The National Centre for Meteorology (NCM) has stated that an area of low pressure in the Red Sea – which has also caused heavy flooding in Saudi Arabia – will bring rain clouds of “varying intensity” over parts of the country over the next few days.

Ras Al Khaimah Police also shut down the road to its highest mountain – Jebel Jais – due to the heavy rains that flooded the area.

In its daily bulletin for Sunday, the NCM said that the weather will be cloudy, with some convective rainy clouds over scattered areas especially toward west and east.

Temperatures will range from a low of 14 degree celcius in the mountains to a high of 36 degrees in the internal areas.
