The UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has cautioned motorists to be careful on roads due to low visibility caused by fog in various parts of the country.

The warning comes after a multi-vehicle crash on Monday morning left 26 people injured.

The accident on Emirates Road took place at 6:40am after a sedan collided with a minibus, which was then hit by other cars.

Dubai Police also posted footage taken from a helicopter showing the aftermath of the accident on its Twitter account.

In its daily bulletin, NCMS said that relative humidity is likely to increase during the night and early morning throughout this week, with a chance of fog/mist formation in some coastal and internal areas.

The weather over the next two days will remain fair to partly cloudy at times, with light to moderate winds in general, NCMS added.

Temperatures will range from 10 degrees to 34 degrees across the country.

Seas will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman, NCMS added.

The Dubai Police has also urged motorists to drive safely.

“Driving at high speeds causes the most serious traffic accidents. We advise you to adhere to the legal speed limits,” it said on its Twitter feed.
