UAE weather authority warns of dust, rain

Motorists have been warned to be cautious due to low visibility

The UAE’s National Centre for Meteorology has issued dust and rain warnings for several parts of the country including three airports.

Motorists have been warned to be cautious due to low visibility.

The centre said that horizontal visibility could be less than 2,000m in some locations until 6:00pm because of the dust storms.

Particular warnings for blowing dust were given for Abu Dhabi International Airport, Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport and Al Ain Airport.

The centre said there was also light rain over Al Marfa and blowing dust over Sweihan and Al Minhad.

Convective cloud formations, associated with rainfall, winds and rough seas, are expected to move over the country from 6:30am until 6:00pm on Tuesday.

Humidity is also forecast to increase at night and in the early morning over some coastal areas.
