The UAE’s weather department has warned of reduced visibility on the roads even as winds speeds continue to rise, blowing sand and dust across the country.

Wind speeds could reach 45km/hr at times in parts of the country, the National Centre for Meteorology (NCM) said in its daily bulletin.

“Moderate to fresh winds in general causing blowing dust/sand may be associated with suspended dust,” it said.

Overall, the weather conditions in the country will remain hot and hazy, with an increase in temperature in general, the NCM said.

Temperatures will range from a low of 30 degree celsius in the mountains to a high of 49 degree celsius in the internal areas.

Humidity is also expected to reach up to 90 per cent in the coastal areas.

The relative humidity will increase by night and early morning over some western internal and coastal areas, the NCM added.

Some clouds will appear eastward and southwards and may become convective by afternoon.

The sea will be moderate to rough in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.

The NCM also predicted similar weather conditions for the weekend, with dusty winds expected to continue.
