Private sector workers in the United Arab Emirates will receive a three-day holiday for Eid Al Adha.
The UAE’s Labour Ministry has announced that private sector workers will have official paid holidays from Wednesday, September 23 to Friday, September 25.
“Saqr Ghobash made the announcement following Article No. 74 of Federal Law No. 8 of 1980 concerning labour relations, stating that there will be three days off for Eid Al Adha,” said state news agency WAM.
This compares to a longer official break for public sector workers, from September 23 to Saturday, September 26, according to the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.
However, employees from both sectors are expected to return to work on Sunday, September 27. This is because Friday and Saturday are weekend days at most UAE companies.
