UAE fuel prices increase in May

The emirates’ fuel prices are linked to international oil rates

UAE fuel prices will increase by almost 7 per cent in May after remaining stable for a month, according to figures from the Ministry of Energy.

New prices published on Twitter by Dubai petrol station operator ENOC showed Super 98 rising from Dhs2.33 to Dhs2.49, Special 95 from Dhs2.22 to Dhs2.37 and diesel from Dhs2.40 to Dhs 2.56.

The country’s fuel prices have been based on international oil rates since August 2015.

Over the last month Brent crude has risen from around $68 a barrel to more than $74.

Last Tuesday Brent crude futures hit $75.20 for the first time since 2014.
