The UAE has announced the second monthly increase in fuel prices in a row for June, according to petrol station operator ENOC.

New prices published by the company on Twitter showed Super 98 rising from Dhs2.49 to Dhs2.63, Special 95 from Dhs2.37 to Dhs2.51 and diesel from Dhs 2.56 to Dhs2.71.

This means an increase of around 5.5 per cent for most fuel categories.

The country’s fuel prices have been based on international oil rates since August 2015.

This month, oil prices have risen amid concerns that new US sanctions on Iran will impact the country’s production. Earlier in May, global crude benchmark Brent topped $80 for the first time since November 2014.

It is now hovering around $75, having increased more than 44 per cent over the last year.
