January 3 To Be A National Holiday In The UAE

The announcement follows a previous declaration of January 1 being a paid holiday for all employees in the Emirates.

The UAE has declared a holiday for all public and private sector companies on January 3, 2015 to mark the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday, according to state news agency WAM.

According to a circular issued by the Minister of Labour Saqr Gobash, January 3 will be a paid holiday for all private sector firms in the UAE. The announcement follows a previous declaration of Thursday, January 1 being a paid holiday for all employees in the Emirates.

Holiday dates for all ministries and federal departments, which are similar to private sector firms, were announced by Hussain Al Hammadi, minister of education and chairman of the Federal Authority for Human Resources.
