Toyota SUV Sales Record Strong Gulf Growth

Land Cruiser leads the sales in the SUV category while Prado and Rav4 also has recorded considerable growth in H1 2013.

Toyota’s sports utility vehicle (SUV) sales recorded a 15 per cent year-on-year growth in the first half of this year with Land Cruiser leading the sales while Prado and Rav4 also saw a rise in demand.

The Japanese car manufacturer has announced a 10 per cent growth in sales performance in the Gulf after selling 310,761 units during the first half of 2013.

Around 35,634 units of Land Cruiser were sold during the first half. Toyota Prado and Rav4 also recorded sales growth of 22 per cent and 38 per cent respectively in the Gulf region. Prado sold 35,195 units while the Rav4 sold 5, 795 units.

Corolla, one of Toyota’s bestselling models, showed further positive growth in the market with 44,114 units sold during the first half in the Gulf region and recording a 22 per cent growth in sales year-on-year.

Toyota’s sales also grew 39 per cent in Levant and Yemen during the H1 2013.
