Sony has announced that its next generation Xperia smartphone, the Xperia T3, will launch across the Middle East in July. The device will be priced at Dhs1799 in the UAE and SAR1799 in Saudi Arabia.

Design-wise, the T3 includes a stainless steel frame, while the back cover is made of matte material. Weighing 148gms and measuring 7mm, the ultra-slim, lightweight device comes in three colours: white, black and purple.

The phone’s 5.3-inch HD display is created using Sony’s BRAVIA technologies, and it comes with an 8MP rear camera and a 1.1MP front camera with full HDR for video. It also features Exmor RS for mobile, allowing for better quality pictures in low-light conditions.

Camera apps include Social live, AR effect – which adds sound effects and animations to photos and videos, Timeshift burst – which takes 31 frames within two seconds, Creative effects and Portrait Retouch.

In terms of technical specs, the T3 supports high-speed 4G networks and includes a quad-core CPU with 1.4 GHz processor and a 2500 mAh battery. It runs on Android 4.4 (Kitkat).

“The Xperia T3 has been crafted with attention to detail for our customers in the region who know how to appreciate a distinctive design,” said Spyridon Gousetis, director of Marketing at Sony Mobile Communications MEA.

“The T3 is packed with the latest technology from Sony – including photography expertise as well as HD display.”
