Saudi Arabia’s Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining Co (Yasref) has contained a fire at one of the units of the 400,000 barrels per day oil refinery in Yanbu, industry sources said on Tuesday.
The fire was minor and there was no impact on operations, said one of the sources. The fire happened over the weekend, other sources said.
No details on which unit was hit by the fire were available.
There was no immediate comment from Yasref, which is 62.5 per cent owned by Aramco. China’s Sinopec holds the remaining stake.
The refinery, on the Red Sea coast, makes gasoline and ultra-low sulfur diesel among other products.
