The Antonov AN225 transported 160 tonnes of cargo from Kiev

The world’s largest aircraft landed at Abu Dhabi International Airport on Saturday following its recent visit to the Dubai airport.

The Antonov An-225 Mriya made its first-ever visit to the United Arab Emirates capital on Saturday, May 21, at 12.30pm.

Arriving from Kiev with 160 tonnes of cargo, the plane was unloaded and returned to Ukraine later Saturday evening, authorities said.

Last week, the Antonov An-225 Mriya also landed briefly in Dubai.

Heading over to Italy, the plane touched down at the Al Maktoum International Airport for a quick stopover.

The 84m-long plane weighs 175 tonnes without cargo or fuel.
