Photos: World First Attractions At Abu Dhabi’s Yas Waterworld

Abu Dhabi’s new water theme park will offer never-before-seen rides and thrills when it opens next week.

Yas Waterworld, a Dhs900 million water theme park, is spread across 15 hectares and includes 43 rides and attractions.


The world’s first and largest hydromagnetic-powered six-person tornado waterslide with the world’s longest run-in at 238 metres long.

Bubble’s Barrel

The largest FlowBarrel in the world, visitors can ride three metre-high waves. Bubble’s Barrel features the world’s biggest surfable sheet wave for flowboards and bodyboards.

Bandit Bomber

The Middle East’s longest suspended roller coaster – 550-metres – and the only water coaster in the region. It is the first in the world to have on-board water and laser special effects. Riders can also shoot jets of water at targets and drop water bombs.


A game involving the search for lost treasures, interaction with magical sea creatures, fire water cannons and the solving of ancient puzzles.

Slither’s Slides

A maze of six slides and tunnels, with themed sculptures that spray water, LED light effects, and 3D videos displayed on sheets of thin water.
The theme park will open to visitors on January 24, 2013.
