Oman bus crash kills 18- police

At least 18 people were killed and 16 seriously injured in a road accident in Oman on early Tuesday morning, officials have confirmed.

The accident occurred near the Nahdah area on the road connecting the districts of Fahud and Ibri when a bus collided with a truck and a four-wheel drive, according to reports. The bus was being operated by the Gulf Transport Company and was carrying 45 people from Salalah to Dubai.

Oman police spokesman Mohammed bin Salama al-Hashami told AFP that the dead included Saudis, Omanis and Asians.

Those injured are being treated at the Ibri and Nizwa hospitals, The Times of Oman reported.
