Nepal Airlines has announced plans to resume flights between Kathmandu and Dubai from August 18 onwards.

The carrier stopped serving Dubai in 2012 due to issues with its B757 narrow body aircraft, according to Business Traveller.

It will now fly three teams a week between the two destinations, on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, with a 158-seater A320 that was recently acquired.

Flight RA 229 will depart Kathmandu at 23:30 and arrive in Dubai at 02:25. RA 230 will leave Dubai at 04:10 and arrive in Kathmandu at 10:10.

The service will compete with flydubai, which flies directly between the two cities three times a day.

Nepal said it would increase the frequency of the service by next year, depending on the response and demand, according to the publication.
