Dubai developer Nakheel is partnering with Reel Cinemas to launch a new five-screen luxury movie and entertainment centre at its upcoming Dhs800m mall The Pointe in Palm Jumeirah.
The centre will also offer the region’s first dine-in cinemas with a total of 250 seats, a spokesperson said.
The pricing is currently under review.
Located within a restaurant, the theatres will feature ergonomic seating and personalised service, a statement said.
Omar Khoory, director, Nakheel Retail, said: “Our partnership with Reel Cinemas reflects our vision for The Pointe: to bring Palm Jumeirah alive with a vibrant destination that offers Dubai’s residents and tourists the very best in dining and entertainment.”
Last year, Nakheel and Reel Cinemas also collaborated for a 14-screen movie complex for Al Khail Avenue mall.
Maitha Al Dossari, CEO of Emaar Entertainment, the operator of Reel Cinemas, said: “We are further expanding the Reel Cinemas footprint through strategic partnerships. The Pointe at Palm Jumeirah by Nakheel is another outstanding location.”
Located at the tip of Palm Jumeirah, The Pointe spans 1.4 million square feet and will feature fountain shows, a 1.5 km promenade and nearly 150 restaurants and retail outlets for seafront dining and shopping.
Slated for completion this year, the mall is expected to attract between 40,000 and 50,000 visitors per day when complete.
The Pointe will be accessible via The Palm Monorail, which is connected to the Dubai Tram and Dubai Metro, and by boat from Palm Jumeirah’s resorts. There is also a car park with 1,600 spaces.
