InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced the opening of the Crowne Plaza Riyadh – RDC Hotel and Convention Centre in the city’s Al Ra’idah Digital City.

The 326-room hotel is the company’s seventh in Riyadh and 31st in the kingdom. It forms part of a mixed-use district that is intended to accommodate 20,000 employees and 10,000 residents.

IHG said the hotel has more than 12,000 square metres of exhibition and conference space including a three-level conference centre, a ballroom, large pre-function areas and 12 meetings rooms.

There is also an outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, health club and a business centre.

Dining options include an all-day restaurant that can seat 500, specialty restaurants serving Brazilian and Japanese cuisine, a lobby café and an indoor tea garden.

“The hotel is located in the new information technology area of Riyadh, that will be developed as the IT and communications hub in the city, and is expected to attract business travellers from across the world,” said IHG managing director for India, Middle East and Africa Pascal Gauvin.

Al Raidah Investment Company is the owner of the property.

IHG has 81 hotels across its five brands in the Middle East with a further 28 under development.
