The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) will make its debut visit to the Middle East in October, showcasing some of the finest watches in the world.

The inaugural visit of the only globally recognised independent awards for excellence in watchmaking acknowledges the region as a growing and important market for Swiss watchmakers.

The Middle East stop, in Dubai, is part of the GPHG’s global tour including Beijing, Singapore and Geneva.

Held in collaboration with Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, the GPHG will showcase 70 of the finest watches, vying for awards across 10 categories including the most innovative and complicated timepieces.

“It is a source of great pride for the United Arab Emirates that the GPHG will be exhibiting in Dubai,” said Abdul Hamied Seddiqi, vice chairman of Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons.

“The GPHG attracts the crème de la crème of the watchmaking industry and is a coveted distinction that is sought after by the biggest names in the watch-making industry.

“To have the opportunity to experience firsthand these complicated, technically complex and visually inspiring timepieces is a rare privilege and I look forward to sharing our passion for Swiss watches with the guests attending the exhibition.”

The exhibition will take place at Cuadro Fine Art Gallery, DIFC, from 23rd – 24th October 2013.
