GE Oil & Gas Opens New Facility In Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone

GE Oil & Gas has opened a new facility in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) in Dubai as part of the global company’s continued growth in the region.

The new facility, measuring 22,700 sqm, will offer services by GE Oil & Gas’ various business units.  It will also offer training programmes and feature a dedicated repair center.  

 

“The new facility will help strengthen our operational efficiency while contributing to enhanced customer service standards. Jebel Ali’s central location will enable us to reach out to our customers across the MENAT region and beyond, swiftly and effectively,” said Rami Qasem, president & CEO of GE Oil & Gas for the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey.

 

“The strategic location of Jebel Ali Free Zone and opening of the GE Oil & Gas facility will allow us to diversify our customer and partner profile by providing businesses across different economic sectors the right environment to grow,” said Ibrahim Al Jahani, deputy chief executive officer of Jafza and chief commercial officer of Economic Zones World.

 

The new facility can accommodate over 300 employees and will be equipped with the latest technology, which will improve speed of service and delivery.

 

Scheduled for completion early next year, the new Jebel Ali facility is set to be one of the largest such facilities of GE in the region. It will have a dedicated administrative block, workshops, conference rooms and employee welfare amenities. 

Elsewhere in the Gulf, the company recently expanded to Saudi Arabia, and opened the first GE Oil & Gas manufacturing facility in Dammam, due for completion in December 2014. The expansion is part of GE’s $1 billion worth of investments announced by the company in the Kingdom in 2012.
