Eid Al Adha: Free parking in Dubai, Metro timings revealed

Public parking in Dubai will be free from Thursday to Sunday

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the timings of all public transport services in the emirate during the upcoming Eid Al Adha holidays.

Public sector workers are off for four days from August 31 until September 3, while private sector workers have been given a three-day weekend from Thursday until Saturday, September 2.

The RTA confirmed that all paid parking zones in Dubai, except multi-level parking lots, will be free of charge from Thursday, August 31 until Sunday, September 3. Fees will be restored on Monday, September 4.

The RTA’s Customers Happiness centers and service centres offering vehicles testing and registration services will be closed from Thursday and will resume service on Monday, September 4, said Yousef Al Rida, CEO of Corporate Administrative Support Services at RTA.

Dubai Metro

During the Eid holiday, the Dubai Metro Red Line stations will operate on Thursday, August 31 from 5.30 am to 2.00 am (of the following day) and on Friday, September 1 from 10.00 am to 2.00 am (of the following day).

On Saturday September 2, these stations will operate from 5.50 am up to 2.00 am (of the following day), and on Sunday, September 3 from 5.30 am up to 2.00 am (of the following day).

The Express Metro service will not be available on Saturday, September 2.

Meanwhile the Green Line stations will operate on Thursday, August 31 from 5.50 am up to 2.00 am (of the following day), on Friday from 10.00 am to 2.00 am (of the following day), and on Saturday and Sunday, from 5.50 am to 2.00 am (of the following day).

Dubai Tram

On Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, the Dubai Tram will operate from 6.30 am to 1.00 am (of the following day), and on Friday it will run from 9.00 am to 1.00 am (of the following day).

Public buses

The main public bus stations such as Gold Souq, Al Ghubaiba, Al Qusais and Jebel Ali will stay open from 5.00 am to 12.00 am (midnight) during the Eid holidays.

In subsidiary stations such as Satwa station, buses will operate from 5.00 am to 11.45 pm except for Route C01, which will operate around-the-clock, while Al Quoz Industrial station will stay open from 5.00 am to 11.30 pm.

The Metro feeder bus stations at Rashidya, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta, Burj Khalifa, Abu Hail and Etisalat will operate from 5.00 am to 2.10 am (the following day). The timing of all metro feeder bus service will match the timing of metro service.

The Inter-City bus service will operate as follows: At Al Ghubaiba, the service will run 24/7 to Sharjah (Jubail station) and from 4.30 am to 12.00 am (midnight) to Abu Dhabi.

At Union Square, the service run from 4.30 am to 1.25 am (of the following day), at Al Sabkha Station from 6.15 am to 1.30 am (of the following day), and at Deira City Center station from 5.35 am to 11.30 pm. Karama station will open from 6.10 am to 10.20 pm and Al Ahli Club station will offer services from 5.55 am to 10.15 pm.

The service timing at external stations will be as follows: Sharjah Route (Al Taawon) from 5.30 am to 10.00 pm, Ajman Route from 4.27 am to 11.00 pm, Fujairah Route from 5.30 am to 9.30 pm and Hatta Route from 5.30 am to 9.30 pm.

Marine transport

On Friday, September 1, marine transit modes will operate as follows: Water bus from Marina station (Marina Mall, Marina Walk, Marina Terrace, Marina Promenade) from 12.00 pm to 12:00 am and water taxis will operate from 9.00 am to 10.00 pm.

Dubai Ferry at Al Ghubaiba and Dubai Marina stations will run five services daily at each station: at 11.00 am, 1.00 pm, 3.00 pm, 5.00 pm and 6.30 pm.

The ferry will shuttle between Al Jaddaf station and Dubai Water Canal station offering three daily services at 10.00 am, 12.00 pm, and 5.30 pm. From Dubai Water Canal station to Al Jaddaf station, it will operate three journeys at 12.05 pm, 2.05 pm and 7.35 pm, and at the Sheikh Zayed station, it will run daily round trip services from 06.00 pm to 12.00 am.

Electric abras will operate at Burj Khalifa from 6.00 pm to 11.30 pm and at Al Jaddaf station and Baniyas station (two directions) from 4.00 pm to 11.00 pm. At Al Mamzar station, the abras will operate (from Thursday to Saturday) from 2.00 pm to 12.00 am.

Traditional abras will operate from Dubai Creek station (Baniyas, Old Dubai Souq) from Friday and throughout Eid holiday from 12.00 pm to 12:00 am, and at Sheikh Zayed Road station from 4.00 pm up to 11.30 pm.

Air-conditioned abras at Al Jaddaf, Dubai Festival City will operate from 7.00 am to 12.00 am.
