Dubai real estate developer Emaar’s hospitality unit has announced the signing of an agreement with Jabal Omar Development Company to manage its first Address Hotels + Resorts property in Saudi Arabia.

The giant Jabal Omar Address Makkah forms part of a master development located within walking distance of the holy city’s Grand Mosque.

It will feature 1,490 hotel rooms and suites, including freehold units for sale across two towers interconnected via a bridge.

Sizes will range from 40sqm for guest rooms, 59 sqm for suites and 390 sqm for presidential suites.

The hotel also features more than 3,000 sqm of food and beverage and retail space with shops, lobby cafes, two lounges and two signature restaurants, as well as six meeting rooms, two business centres and two gyms.

Emaar Hospitality CEO Olivier Harnisch said he expected the property to appeal to religious visitors and investors.

The wider Jabal Omar features residences, hotels, malls, retail amenities, prayer areas and other support facilities.

“As an iconic development situated near the Grand Mosque, Jabal Omar Address Makkah will appeal to visitors from across the world by offering distinctive value propositions including its central location, attentive service and extensive amenities that meet the needs of visitors,” said Mohamed Alabbar, chairman of Emaar Properties.

Emaar Hospitality currently has 10 operational hotels and 26 in the pipeline across its Address, Vida and Rove brands.
