Dubai Properties has announced plans to launch new townhouses for sale within its affordable development, Serena, in Dubailand.

A total of 578 units will be launched for sale within the new Portuguese-inspired community, Casa Dora.

The units will include a mix of two to three bedroom townhouses, all with the option of a maid’s room – targeting the affordable housing segment, DP said.

Casa Dora follows the launch of townhouses in the Bella Casa community at Serena earlier this year.

According to DP, the units at Bella Casa sold out “hours after the launch”.

Pre-sale online registration is now open for Casa Dora and the new units will be released at the DP sales and customer services centre in Ras Al Khor.

Marwan Al Kindi, executive director, Sales and Sales Operations said: “Strong demand for affordable housing keeps Dubai’s property market buoyant.

“We anticipate that the release of the new Casa Dora at Serena community will once again attract huge customer interest and high investor demand following the success of our initial release of Serena earlier this year.”

Located in Dubailand next to Layan and Al Waha communities, Serena is a 8.2 million square feet master-development which will be built across five phases.

Amenities will include three community centres with recreational facilities, swimming pools, gym, play areas and a clinic.

A plaza in the centre of the community will offer retail options with the overall project leasing space spread across approximately 100,000 sq ft.

Several developers are targeting the affordable property segment in Dubai to meet growing demand in the sector.

According to a report by Reidin, affordable housing currently offers a net rental yield of 6.9 per cent, compared to 4.4 per cent offered by the premium and trophy housing segment.
