Dubai-based Azizi Developments has announced plans to launch a new Dhs25bn mega project in Dubai.

Spread across a construction area of 33 million square feet in central Dubai, the project, whose name is yet to be announced, will have a “British feel”, a statement said.

The development will include residential, commercial and retail space, with 105 mid-rise and high-rise residential buildings consisting of 30,000 apartments.

It will also include education facilities, retail outlets, hospitality, a shopping area and outdoor recreation spaces.

Construction of the project is scheduled to begin in November and be completed before Expo 2020, the statement added.

Last month, Azizi also announced plans to launch two new mega projects at Meydan One in the last quarter of this year.

The projects will be four times the size and value of its Dhs12bn Azizi Riviera waterfront project – also located in Meydan One district, the developer said in a statement. No further details were disclosed.

Azizi Riviera includes 69 mid-rise residential buildings with 13,000 units of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, a retail district and a four and a five-star hotel.

The project began construction in July this year with the completion of phase one and two scheduled for the second half of 2018.

At Cityscape exhibition, Azizi revealed that phase one and 50 per cent of phase two of the development have been sold out.
