Bahrain’s Gulf Air and Turkish Airlines have signed a codeshare agreement covering flights operated between Manama and Istanbul.

The agreement will see the two carriers apply their codes to the respective daily flights they operate between the two cities from November 1.

“Entering into a codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines is a positive strategic step forward for Gulf Air, through which we offer our guests a larger combined frequency of flights while strengthening and enhancing our commercial ties,” said Gulf Air deputy CEO Captain Waleed Abdul Hameed Al Alawi.

Gulf Air’s CEO Maher Salman Al Musallam resigned in June after being appointed in May 2016.

The airline has yet to appoint a replacement.
