Peter Cooper

Oxford graduate Peter Cooper was the founding editor of Gulf Business in 1996, and started the AME Info business website in 2000 that was sold in 2006 to Emap plc. He is now editor and publisher of the ArabianMoney.net financial comment website and monthly investment newsletter and appears regularly on Dubai TV and radio as well as contributing a column each month to Gulf Business.Peter spent more than a decade in London as an award-winning financial journalist before moving to Dubai to edit Gulf Business and has written three books including the best-seller ‘Opportunity Dubai: Making a Fortune in the Middle East’ available at the Dubai Aiport Duty Free.

He’s well known for his commentaries on precious metals and real estate and lives in Dubai with his wife and cat.


Ibrahim Al Ansari

Ibrahim Al Ansari is the Chief Executive Officer of Dubai First. Since the inception of Dubai First in early 2007, Al Ansari’s vision and strategy have paved the way for developing Dubai First into a leading consumer finance firm it is today.

Al Ansari brings over 22 years of extensive industry experience, and has worked with leading multi-national banks such as Citibank, Standard Chartered Bank and ABN AMRO Bank over the past 14 years.



Husam Hourani
Husam Hourani is managing partner at Al Tamimi, the region’s largest law firm. Hourani has over 17 years of experience advising clients on banking and finance related matters in the UAE. He also advises clients on capital market transactions in the UAE including listings on the Dubai Financial Market and the Abu Dhabi Exchange, as well as regulatory matters. His work on conventional finance, Shari’a compliant products and capital markets wins him many fans. Husam is a member of the NASDAQ Dubai Listing Committee and the DIFCA Legislative Committee.

Legal 500 states that Husam Hourani is “very smart, responsive, intensely knowledgeable and equally capable in relation to Islamic and conventional banking”,’ and has been described by clients as “the most knowledgeable banking lawyer in Dubai”.
