Air Berlin Starts Abu Dhabi Stuttgart Flights

New route marks first connection between UAE and German city

Gulf Business

Etihad Airways’ partner airberlin has started daily flights between Stuttgart and Abu Dhabi on A320 aircraft.

Etihad has placed its EY code on the flights as part of its codeshare agreement with airberlin, connecting the service with its global network. Together, airberlin and Etihad Airways now operate 63 flights per week from Germany to Abu Dhabi.

Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, CEO of airberlin, said: “The new flights from Stuttgart to Abu Dhabi mark an important milestone for airberlin. The Stuttgart area is one of Germany’s most economically important regions and we see great potential for our service to Abu Dhabi.”

It is the first link between Stuttgart and the UAE and it becomes airberlin’s first long-haul route from Stuttgart. Qatar Airways previously served Stuttgart but suspended flights in 2012.
